Shannon Duvall
Shannon Duvall has been bushwhacking a path through the thicket of words for over 20 years, starting in school with DIY zines and mixed CD liner notes for friends that somehow always told a story.
Shannon has spent a career toggling between the poetic and the practical, attempting to master the balance of emotion and clarity that defines writing things that people actually want to read.
Shannon's interests spill over into the personal and include - shockingly - surfing, which they describe as "getting real comfortable with spectacular failure"; collecting an offensive number of old vinyl records, sailing, and playing drums - the bone-rattling kind.
Their writing attempts to carry echoes of these pursuits: rhythm, perspective, and a respect for balance and nuance.
Beyond the surfing, Duvall has whipped words into award-winning shape for clients as broad-ranging as the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance, the Arts Council of Ireland, Wild Atlantic Way, and the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, to name a few.
They have written for websites, social media, digital marketing campaigns, e-books, video scripts, press releases, and a whole lot more.
Shannon Duvall is the editor of Luís Madureira Pinto's inaugural e-book, "The Surfing Files: Everything You Need to Know About Riding Waves," among others.
