Luís Madureira Pinto is the founder, executive manager, and senior editor of SurferToday.com.

He's been surfing, skateboarding, and sailing (Vaurien, Laser/ILCA, and windsurfing) since the early 1990s and began writing and selling his own homemade magazine with a friend as a teenager.

Around 2000, he co-founded and launched an academic and university news website supported by Microsoft.

Later, he worked as a business journalist for radio, TV, newspapers, and magazines.

Before creating SurferToday.com in 2007, Madureira Pinto worked as a corporate communications consultant at a top firm, designing and implementing communications strategies for national, multinational, and stock-listed companies.

A Porto native, Luís MP graduated from the University of Coimbra with a degree in Journalism.

He also has a post-graduate course in archaeology from the University of Porto and an MBA from Porto Business School.

In 2008, Luís MP won Portugal's largest multimedia prize awarded by the Portuguese telecommunications and media company ZON/NOS.
